A Bexar County interstate turned a little green Tuesday morning after an 18-wheeler carrying cabbage crashed on the far South Side.

Just after 1 a.m., Bexar County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Interstate 37, near Mathis and Hardy Road, where an 18-wheeler rear-ended a second 18-wheeler.

The first truck sustained severe damage and its back door was torn off, spilling the cabbage it was hauling onto the interstate.

That driver was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The second driver was uninjured.

It is unclear what caused the crash.
